About Redeemer's Heart

The Story...

It all started with a domino and the whisper of the Holy Spirit on the heart of founder, Elana Brownfield, in 2014. You can read more about the beginning in her Art & Soul post #1, It Started with a Domino.

Since then, she gradually worked on Redeemer’s Heart as God led and inspired her.  But as a busy junior/senior high art teacher, most of the time spent building the web site took place during the summer months.

During a traumatic medical event in January of 2018, Jesus asked her the question, “What do you dream about?”  Her first thought was Redeemer’s Heart.  In that moment she knew that launching Redeemer’s Heart needed to be a priority; God’s plan and her dream where in alignment.

You can read more about her testimony and how Jesus spoke to her in Art & Soul post # 3 titled, “He Called Me Out”.

The Mission...

Visual art was utilized in the most extraordinary ways in past centuries to tell the story of Christ and to advance His kingdom.  Step into any old cathedral and your eyes will be filled with beautiful Christian artistry.  Why isn’t visual art being utilized, both inside and outside the church setting, in dramatic ways today?

Redeemer’s Heart wants to change this.  We want to give Christian artists the tools and the platform to once again reach people with the story and love of Christ in powerful ways by utilizing creativity and modern technology. Heart of the Redeemer, Art & Soul post #2, further examines how visual art accompanied by the written stories behind them is so powerful to advance the message of the Gospel today.

Please join us in our mission! There are many ways to get involved.  Above all, please pray for the continued reach of Redeemer’s Heart according to God’s will and plan.

What We Believe...

The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God’s infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.
